| Wurlitzer Jukebox Company Moving to Chicagoland
For Immediate Release June 12, 1998 Effective August of this year, Wurlitzers U.S. headquarters will be moving back to the Midwest, to Gurnee, IL. Gurnee, home to the largest shopping mall in Illinois, is located about 45 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Long before we began making jukeboxes, Wurlitzer operated out of a large building at 266-268 Wabash Ave. in Chicago. In those days, Wurlitzers main business was the manufacturing of automatic musical instruments such as player pianos, automatic harps, and orchestrons. The move is being made to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency. Most Wurlitzer distributors will benefit from the move in the form of lower freight charges and faster shipments due to the more central location of Illinois. Web site and email addresses will be unchanged. The new local address, phone, and fax information is as follows:
